Haido has had the best of both worlds in her music development and career. She grew up in a household where her academic goals were set high however had a love for music no one could dispute.
Haido is a classically trained pianist having completed her AMUS in Piano with the AMEB in 1993. During her childhood she discovered she had a natural singing voice as well.
Haido went to university and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing thinking her career would take her into a world she dreamed of, becoming a recording artist and songwriter. This pathway directed her to major record labels where she worked in Marketing & Publicity in Australia for Sony Music and Universal Music.
She worked on the marketing campaigns for some of the world's most successful international artists including Destiny’s Child, Michael Jackson, Ricky Martin, Shakira and Delta Goodrem.
In 2003 Haido moved to London where she spent 5 years perfecting her own craft as a singer, songwriter and recording artist.
The product was the release of two solo albums "Who I Be" (2005) and "The Love Album" (2008) which received rave reviews in the Soul and RnB music scene in the UK and more broadly in Europe as well.
Later, upon becoming a mother to two beautiful boys, Haido moved to South Africa with her young family. Here she taught piano and singing in a prestigious private school, Umhlanga College, in Durban.
She discovered a love and passion for music teaching she had never imagined possible.
This love wanted her to give back to young inquisitive minds who were hungry and eager to learn and grow as young musicians. Teaching, nurturing and empowering these young people with the music techniques, life experience and insights she had learnt through her life’s music journey gave Haido a new sense of purpose. Now, The Music Space team is cultivating a lifelong love of music in each and every one of its students and it's a great ride to be on.
